If you are a graphic design firm that is known for doing any type of design for any type of client you will have an unscalable business. You will not develop a clear marketing strategy for your services, nor will you have the ability to hedge yourself as the go-to graphic design business when people are searching for a specific graphic design need.
Have you set goals? Are you prepared to grow your design skills and business knowledge to build a successful business? One of my favorite sayings is, “If you always do what you always did you will always get what you always got”. This is so true and needs to be addressed when you are starting your graphic design graphic design business. Set some goals, write them down, and strive after them.
If you want to become a freelance graphic designer then you need to get specific with your goals and write down how many clients you want to have in your business, how much money you want to make and what new skills you want to learn. Get practical. Get down to the details!
