Even with the best will in the world, some clients will struggle to write a solid brief from scratch.
And that’s totally understandable!
Imagine how tricky it would be to distill your entire brand, history, challenges, audience and goals down to a couple of pages without knowing what’s relevant or useful for the designer 😖
But even though it’s a challenge doesn’t mean we skip the briefing process altogether.
To make this process more seamless and fruitful for both us and the client, we should guide them through the briefing process ensuring we gather all the information we need to create the required deliverables.
I currently do this in the form of a briefing template/questionnaire for my client to fill out. It asks 41 essential questions to get under the skin of their brand and gives me all the ammo I need to create a wicked identity for them.
