LCTI: Web Design / Programming

LCTI: Lehigh Career & Technical Institute is one of the nation’s leading career and technical schools. Web Design / Programming at LCTI is designed to provide students to want to learn how to design and implement attractive web sites with a firm understanding of merging new media technology.

Students in the program develop an understanding of design fundamentals, a proficiency in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) coding techniques, and a working knowledge of a variety of web page development tools. HTML is the language of the World Wide Web. All web pages depend, to a great extent, on HTML to organize and display everything including text, graphics, and multimedia through web browsers.

Students will have the opportunity to select from four distinct career areas, including: Web Page Designer, Graphic Designer, Multimedia Designer, and Web Programmer.

Students are taught basic server-side techniques such as CGI/Perl, Javascript, XML, XHTML, and DHTML to handle everything from basic form transmittal, building dynamic and interactive web pages and intranets, extranets, e-commerce applications, and the fundamentals of OBDC compliant databases using SQL.

LCTI prepares students with the academic and technical knowledge needed to succeed in higher education and careers. We are committed to excellence in providing the best education for our students.

Since opening its doors in 1971, Lehigh Career & Technical Institute maintains a reputation as one of the finest career and technical schools in the nation. In fact, LCTI is the largest career and technical school in Pennsylvania and the third largest in the country.
