Subscription based pricing models have been popular for a while now. The unlimited subscription service model is followed by brands like Adobe, Microsoft, Sony, etc. So, whose to say that you also can’t do it for your own freelance business? Well, you could, but you’d best think it through very meticulously. When freelancers think about a web design business model, many opt for hourly rates or flat rate project fees. But, with enough time, the right systems, and a good team, there’s also the option of the unlimited subscription business model.

Essentially, this is unlimited design requests and revisions for any client that pays a monthly fee. Does the client need a new landing page? Do they need new social media branding assets? Maybe they need simple updates made to the home page? Either way, all work done would be priced under a monthly or yearly fee that the client would pay. This gives you a steady stream of income, and the client constant support for anything they might need related to their website and design assets. But as mentioned above, a subscription model for web design can work, but it can also turn out to be very stressful and taxing on you without the right supports and systems in place.
